The Climate Action Plan Student Life Subcommittee distributed a Climate Action Survey to all UMass Lowell students, 1,596 students participated. This survey helped indicate to the committee that it needs to educate students more on the topics of: recycling items other than cans and bottles, green laundry usage and products, as well as accentuate the bike share program we offer here on campus. All UMass Lowell Students were provided the opportunity to complete the survey (11,725 graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in fall 2013) and 1,596 students responded for a percentage of 13.6%. A follow-up assessment has not been conducted. A copy of the survey is here:

Based on our assessment of the Climate Action Survey, it would not meet the definition of a literacy assessment which aims to focus on the knowledge of students on sustainability topics. The Climate Action survey focused primarily on values, behaviors and beliefs which are not sufficient to earn points for this credit.
