A brief description of the program(s):
The Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute at the University of Michigan asks faculty to develop new courses, or enhance existing courses so they are appropriate and available for the students in their Graham Scholars program. The Graham Scholars program requires and funds participation in an off-site field-based course that investigates a sustainability issue in depth, preferably with an international context.

Instructors whose course proposals are accepted may receive:
Resources and support for course development and teaching
Resources to travel to/from a field site, including accommodations, meals, etc.
The opportunity to mentor highly motivated students
The opportunity to advance research interests with a team of undergraduate and possibly graduate students
