During summer time, Université de Montréal promotes the implementation of the summer schedule (4 days work without salary reduction, 8 hours a day) for the entire university community, including staff on special funds.

For some unions and associations, Université de Montréal offers, at all times, the voluntary reduction of working time to regular full-time staff. This schedule of work is the subject of an agreement between the employer and his employee. For example, instead of working 35 hours a week, the employee works 32 hours a week at 8 hours per day over 4 days.
