The environmental science major at Mount Union is an interdisciplinary major where students complete an in-depth experience in a traditional area of
science, an interdisciplinary breadth experience and four integrative experiences which tie together the sciences and the humanities. The program seeks to
develop environmentally informed professionals and citizens who can contribute to responsible environmental management and who possess leadership,
teamwork and problem-solving skills

The minor includes the same three CORE courses as the MAJOR, in sequence as they become more advanced, and two additional courses in a depth field (Biology, Chemistry, or Geology) The Minor is more popular thatn the major and many students choose it to complement their intended career paty such as green business, or enviornmental communications.
