The site highlights a number of case studies relating to sustainability on campus. It also enables individuals to get in contact and leave suggestions or concerns. It also links to monthly campus energy consumption levels.

Starting in April 2017, the Office of Sustainability released its inaugural monthly newsletter. The newsletter covers the four main pillars of sustainability: academics, engagement, facilities, and operations. The newsletter also features an individual highlight of a student, alumni, faculty, or staff who is doing something inspiring or innovative in the field of sustainability. The monthly newsletter also encourages people to get involved and attend sustainability related events on campus and in the community.

In August 2016, the Office of Sustainability launched a twitter account, highlighting current projects, research, and events happening on campus, the city of Lincoln, or the state of Nebraska. The twitter also provides tips and encourages sustainability on campus.
GreenUNL is a student led social media platform and campaign that highlights initiatives in campus sustainability. Though there are multiple organizations dedicated to sustainability at UNL, GreenUNL is the main outlet for all groups to gather support for their programs.

In August 2017, the Office of Sustainability developed a partnership with the Daily Nebraskan, the student-led newspaper, to assign specific student reporters to cover sustainability news on campus and the community. The Daily Nebraskan assigned the Office of Sustainability two reporters to cover sustainability news.

The "Smart Choice" campaign seeks to expose the campus community to all the sustainable features of the University. The signage employs positive feedback strategies to show students, faculty, and staff how their university is working to enhance campus sustainability. Smart Choice also shows the community how their actions are helping and reinforces good habits.

There are a variety of options for commuters to get in and around campus. Every year, students who are enrolled at UNL receive a bus pass, with information on how to use Lincoln's public bus system.

At the start of each semester Bike UNL posts signage and distributes information for safe cycling on campus. Bike UNL also offers bike safety classes throughout the year.

University Housing and University Dining Services are implementing new sustainability practices that will reduce paper consumption when communicating with students. The new practices include moving promotional messaging from table tents onto digital signs. The policy went into effect August 1, 2016.
A strategic communications plan to install digital signs was developed in 2014 and the first phase of installation in dining centers was completed last year. Phase two of the project identified additional key locations and installation has been ongoing throughout the 2016 academic year. Phase three will expand signs into residence hall traffic ways.
University Housing also supported sustainability efforts during move-out. University Housing has partnered with Goodwill, UNL Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and the Student Affairs Huskers Helping Huskers Pantry+ to collect items as students leave their residence hall rooms. Students see information in residence halls in mid-April on how they can support sustainability efforts as they move out of the residence halls.

The Environmental Sustainability Committee with Student Government released a "Green Guide to Lincoln" this year which shows students all things sustainability in Lincoln, Nebraska. The guide provides multi-modal travel time data for popular locations on campus, educational material, features sustainable businesses and restaurants, and much more.
