A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:

Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA). The OMSA creates opportunities for people to participate in an inclusive community and to explore and understand diversity, injustice and equity. The OMSA’s work is grounded in understanding diversity that includes people of all abilities, ages and ethnicities, genders, nationalities, races, religions/spiritual traditions, socio-economic classes and sexual orientations. Providing support and development for African American/Black, Latina/o, Native American and Asian/Pacific Islanders, as well as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning students is at the heart of OMSA’s work.
To see events facilitated or sponsored by the OMSA, see http://www.unh.edu/omsa/events.htm. Programs and events hosted by OMSA enrich University life by providing a space for faculty, staff and students to engage in learning and dialogue about race, sexuality, and gender. The OMSA welcomes faculty involvement in events. All events are free, wheelchair-accessible and open to the public.

Career Center’s Diversity Network Program. Students in the DNP attend three (3) career seminars throughout the year to learn about career development and planning, internship opportunities and networking skills. In addition to the three seminars, there are three (3) Networking Lunches where career mentors dedicated to the value of diversity in the workforce, connect with students to provide an opportunity to practice their career skills and gain advice from those in the "real world." For more information about the program go to: http://www.unh.edu/uacc/diversitynetlunch.html.
