A brief description of the program(s), including positive outcomes during the previous three years (e.g. descriptions of new courses or course content resulting from the program):
The Sustainability Institute supports several faculty scholars in biodiversity, climate, food, and culture. Faculty are supported via percent salary covered or for graduate assistants or other teaching/research help, etc. Faculty scholars help integrate sustainability into curricula at UNH, among other duties.

The Sustainability Institute also directs a sustainability course development incentive fund. This fund is available to any UNH faculty member who would like to either enhance an existing course to include significant sustainability content; or develop new courses that have significant sustainability content. For the purposes of this incentive fund, sustainability content includes at least one of the following: interdisciplinary and system based approaches; addressing grand challenges; exploring the balance of social, economic, and ecosystem needs; or connecting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) with the humanities and social science.
A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:
Incentives to become a Sustainability Institute faculty scholar include, teaching and research assistance, graduate assistants, or a percent of salary covered, in exchange for teaching sustainability courses and participating in sustainability initiatives.
The sustainability course incentive fund provides funds up to $2000 per faculty member, which can be used for professional development (e.g., training courses, specialized conferences, professional meetings related to sustainability), introducing new technology into courses, and faculty time.
This program is currently set up for three years with the expectation that it will be extended. The selected faculty with course names are in the attached excel document under "additional documentation" below.
