Yes

A brief summary of papers, guides, presentations, and other resources the institution has developed to share their sustainability experience with other institutions:

• UNC participated in the 2010 conference of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) where we partnered with Duke, NC State, Meredith, Wake Forest, UVM, and others to present sessions on “Doing More with Less: Tapping Campus Partnerships and Online Resources,” “Student Green Fee Management and Project Implementation,” “Financing Renewable Energy Installations on University and College Campuses,” and “Engaging Faculty from a Non-academic Post.”
• UNC participated in the Greening of the Campus VIII conference where we partnered with Duke, Meredith College, and NC State to host a workshop entitled “Promoting A Culture of Shared Responsibility: Empowering Others to Take the Lead.”
• UNC co-hosted the 2008 conference of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), where we partnered with Duke and NC State to share our experiences and responses to the record-breaking drought of 2007 and hosted a campus tour and locally-sourced lunch.

A brief summary of additional ways the institution collaborates with other campuses to advance sustainability :

~~A formal system-wide Sustainability Committee was established to address systematic integration of sustainability principles, master planning, design and construction, operations and maintenance, climate change mitigation and renewable energy, transportation, recycling and waste management, and environmentally preferable purchasing. The UNC Director of Sustainability served as co-chair. The sustainability policy developed by the committee was adopted by the Board of Governors.
~~At the request of the North Carolina General Assembly, UNC partnered with colleagues at N.C. State and East Carolina University to research the feasibility of placing wind turbines in the sounds off the North Carolina coastline. It was found that wind power development is feasible and could provide up to 20 percent of the state’s energy without significant human or environmental impacts.
~~UNC co-sponsored a Leadership for Sustainability and Curriculum Workshop with Duke University, Meredith College, UNC Greensboro, and NC State University in May 2010. Attendees included faculty, staff, and administrators from colleges and universities in the region.
