A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:

Service Learning in Ecuador – After an orientation on volunteering in Ecuador, students are assigned to a service project which is linked to one of four academic areas: environment & conservation; health; human rights; or education for 4 days or 20 hours of volunteering. In addition to the experience of volunteering, students also have the opportunity to engage with the native culture by living with host families and interacting with locals in Cuenca. The curriculum is a mixture of community service at local organizations, classroom guest lectures with local representatives, and cultural activities.
