The UNCP Baseline 2013 is the year both the Energy Management Office and the Office of Sustainability were created.

Interdepartmental campus wide surplus program allows for division to have access to office furnishings, supplies and electronic that have been purchased with state funds and no longer has use within a particular office. Materials are simply transferred. If anything that has been surplussed and is not transferred to an office, it is then auctioned off with the state. Any funds made during auction is returned to the University.

UNCP Facilities and departments have increased transparency as well as the availability of materials on their corresponding webpages.

Sustainability Office has made suggestions to the UNCP Purchasing Guidelines in regards to sustainable and environmentally friendly policies limiting the acquisition of paper and ink that is not

UNCP Office of Civic Engagement has a CARE Resource Center that acts as a clothing closet and food pantry for students and the community. During move out students may take their gently no longer used clothes to be donated.

UNCP Sustainability Office has deployed an extensive single stream and separate stream infrastructure across campus. UNCP Office of Civic Engagement also has a CARE Resource Center that acts as a clothing closet and food pantry for students and the community.

UNCP is a new chapter member of the Sodexo Food Recovery Network program. In this program, UNCP student volunteers recover pre-consumer food and deliver it to off campus community partners. UNCP currently has three community partners, Sacred Pathways, Vertical Church and Pembroke Housing Authority.

UNCP dinning services has a bio-digestor that turns post-consumer food waste into gray water, preventing it from entering into a landfill.

UNCP no longer uses styrofoam in the dining facilities. Faculty, staff and students utilize reusable to-go containers. All faculty, staff and students with meal plans are given reusable beverage mug.

Dining Services use compostable cups as well as utensils for both catering and regular dine in meals.
