A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:

UNF contracts out a local company called E-Scrap recycle that comes to campus and picks up electronic waste. It has been determined that E-Scrap is an EPA approved vendor of electronic materials recycling so as to ensure that standards are met that comply with recycling responsibility, workers' basic safety, and environmental standards.

A brief description of the electronic waste recycling program for institution-generated materials:

We currently use a recycle company called E-Scrap recycle located in Jacksonville. Items that are picked up are located in parking garage 38. All other items are sold at an on campus auction held at least twice a year. Our recycle department handles all other items such as CRT monitors, old toner cartridges, etc.
