UNBC does not participate in a federal TRIO program.

UNBC offers a range of bursary, scholarship, fellowship and workstudy opportunities to assist low-income students with the financial burden of post-secondary education. UNC employees students in the library, sports centre and food service outlets operated by the Northern Undergraduate Student Society. Undergraduates and graduate students are also hired as Research Assistants and Teaching Assistants.

UNBC participates in the World University Service of Canada's Student Refugee Program (http://www.wusc.ca/en/campus/students/SRP). Each year, UNBC sponsors student refugees through the program. Their sponsorship includes providing vital social and financial support to the sponsored student for a minimum of 12 months upon their arrival in Canada.

The UNBC Awards and Financial Aid Office helps students to obtain the funds necessary to finance their education and to provide educational budgeting services. Funds may be obtained from a variety of sources, including government and bank loans, UNBC awards, and donor-supported scholarships:
