A brief description of the certificate program:

- The Geographical Information Systems Certification is designed for the general public, professionals and students in natural resources management, urban and regional planning, local government and other fields who need to become skilled and knowledgeable about geographic information systems.

- The Master Gardener Certification is offered in collaboration with the David Douglas Botanical Garden Society, this intensive course which combines home study, classroom instruction and assignments. Students gain knowledge of environmentally sound gardening relevant to Northern B.C. and must complete 70 hours of volunteering within the community over two years.

- The Silviculture Surveyor Assessor Certification prepares silvicultural surveyors to ensure the accuracy and thoroughness of data collection and mapping, confirm and identify additional critical site factors that may influence the attainment of management objectives set out in plans (i.e. environmental factors) and make preliminary recommendations for future forest treatment.
