Letters have been written on behalf of UNBC to the Premier of BC in relation to developing the clean energy sector and investing in low carbon opportunities.
UNBC is an active member of the BC Campus Sustainability Working Group (BCCSWG). In addition to serving as a campus sustainability netrowk, the group also directly links to government and provides input on public policy and legislation (i.e. Carbon Neutral Public Sector requirements).
UNBC is one of four research-intensive university members of the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS). PICS pulls together intellectual capital into a dynamic knowledge network that develops innovative climate change solutions, seeks new opportunities for positive adaptation, and leads the way to a vibrant low-carbon economy. Two main objectives are to develop policy and business solutions and communicate climate change issues to government, industry and the general public.
