Over the past 10 years, our MS and PhD graduates have obtained high-profile positions in industry, government, and academia, with about 25% of our PhD students placed in teaching and research faculty positions across the U.S. and around the world.

The Department of 
Biological Sciences is the focal point for research in the Life 
Sciences at the University of Notre Dame. The Graduate Program in Biological Sciences encompasses the broad scope of biological inquiry with several areas of study in the Biomedical Sciences, Global Health, and Ecology, Evolution & 
the Environment (EEE). This uncommon level of wide-ranging yet integrative biological inquiry provides an extraordinary environment for learning, innovation and collaboration.

The School of Architecture is proud to introduce a two-year Master of Science in Historic Preservation program. It is only natural that a program dedicated to the development of buildings and places that are lasting and meaningful to the communities that inhabit them provide education in the care for great existing buildings and places through thoughtful preservation practices.

The College of Science also offers programs that lead to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. Graduate students can pursue any of the areas of scientific interest represented among the faculty. One option offered is pursuing environmental and global health research through the world.

The search for solutions to a number of problems throughout the world hinges on the availability of clean, inexpensive energy. A number of fields are impacted by the study of energy, and Notre Dame has proven to be a leader in exploring new forms of energy, from nuclear and solar to wind and fossil fuels. Study also takes place in the areas of energy policy and distribution.
