Does the institution have an ongoing program or programs that offer incentives for faculty in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses?:
Yes

A brief description of the program(s), including positive outcomes during the previous three years (e.g. descriptions of new courses or course content resulting from the program):

1. The Energy Center accepts applications for funding from faculty and graduate students to develop new courses or to enhance existing courses to include energy-related topics and issues.
2. Center for Environmental Justice Focused on EIJ-related teaching, research, and service, the Center for Environmental Justice and Children’s Health is a multi-disciplinary group of Notre Dame faculty, students, and friends dedicated to addressing EIJ.
3. The director of the Sustainability Minor conducted a Sustainability Across the Curriculum workshop in May 2015. This resulted in four faculty members creating a new course or adding a sustainability unit to their course.


A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

1. Faculty receive funding for developing courses.
2. Grants for teaching, research and service are available.
3. A stipend given to faculty members who create a new course or add a sustainability unit to an existing course.
4. Eight new course development grants were awarded in Spring 2017 from the Sustainability Minor.
