Sustainable Carolina and the Office of Sustainability put on a faculty development workshop annually at the end of the spring semester. Faculty from all disciplines and all USC campuses are eligible to participate in the 1 ½ day training workshop. Participation does include a competitive application process. There is no charge for faculty that participate in the workshop and supporting events. Faculty that complete the workshop are then eligible to apply for competitive grants of up to $500 to support the development of new or re-designed courses that address sustainability.
Other opportunities that exist to support faculty in course development through the Office of Sustainability and its campus partners include release time from Deans for program development and implementation, conference and training funding and course, research and project implementation funding available through the Student Sustainability Fund. Additionally, faculty may apply for the Page Prize for Sustainability Issues in Business Curricula.
