It shall be the policy of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to provide a safety working environment for students, staff and faculty. Air monitoring is a recognized method to evaluate and characterize air contaminants that may impact the health of the university community. Additionally, it shall be the policy of the University of Tennessee to provide a work environment that is safe and reasonably comfortable. Complaints involving indoor air quality shall be investigated to determine the cause and evaluate the risk (if any) to occupants. UT Knoxville faculty, staff and students may register IAQ complaints with Facilities Services or Environmental Health & Safety. The two departments work together to determine the cause of complaints, evaluate the risk (if any) to occupants, and where necessary take corrective action.
