Any employee can request, through the submission of a proposal, funding through the Green Fee to pursue sustainability related training or professional development. Also, Facilities Services hosts sustainability workshops which are attended by various Facilities Services staff members.


A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution(e.g. through payment, reimbursement, or subsidy):

UT sends staff members to TNAPPA (Tennessee Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers) conferences which have included breakout sessions on sustainability topics. Additionally, UT has sent UT Recycling and Office of Sustainability staff to the annual AASHE conference.
