A brief description of the IPM plan(s) :

The area described includes a 427-acre main campus and the 476-acre J.J. Pickle Research Campus.

The University of Texas at Austin uses an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system to significantly reduce pollution associated with the storage, application, and disposal of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides by requiring standard best practices of pest management strategies, with a focus on following established guidelines and minimizing usage of materials. The application of all pesticides and fertilizers on UT properties are performed by trained employees under the supervision of individuals licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture. Pesticides are rarely applied on campus, and this is always for controlled localized use. The campus is never blanket sprayed.
