A brief description of the sustainable food and beverage purchasing program:

Sodexo is the prime contractor that operates the current food services at the University of Texas at El Paso. Sodexo works together with UTEP to improve Quality of Life by promoting health and wellness, reducing energy consumption, preventing waste and sourcing sustainable products. Sodexo is committed to sustainable development and has defined a worldwide roadmap: the Better Tomorrow Plan.


A brief description of the methodology used to track/inventory sustainable food and beverage purchases:

Sodexo requires that weekly inventory reports are conducted in order to track their food and beverage purchases. All purchases are done through a list of approved vendors that meet specific product standards.
