A brief description of the green laboratory program, including the specific initiatives selected above:

ENERGY: Shut off timers for lab equipment, support from energy management for transitioning to room temperature storage, and fume hood "shut the sash" program, and freezer maintenance programs.

CHEMICAL USE AND DISPOSAL: The EHSRM Environmental Protection Program is charged with ensuring that all of the institution’s environmental releases are released in a manner that is not harmful to the environment and is compliant with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Rules and Regulations. Environmental releases are categorized into three different categories:

Regulated waste releases
Water releases
Air releases
