The team has an open membership policy so any interested students may volunteer to participate.

The Office of Sustainability provides a sustainabile living guide on its webpage for all staff and students to use as a reference. Staff also give a presentation to the team every fall, and provide support when requested. Also, the residence halls do have sustainability floor in which participating residents appropriate sustainable living habits.

Residence Hall Association receives approximately $47.80 per year (23.90 per semester) per resident to fund student programs, which helps fund green team programming.

The student resident assistant is chosen through a competitive application process. Floor residents apply through the normal housing request process.

The resident assistant is mentored by the Office of Sustainability outreach coordinator, and in turn designs and develops education programs and activities for floor residents.
