Does the institution have a program to encourage student sustainability research that meets the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

A brief description of the institution’s program(s) to encourage student research in sustainability:

In 2008, a student-led initiative created the Sustainable Campus Initiative Fund, supported by a small fee. The program specifically encourages and supports grants to fund student research projects as one of the program areas, and several projects have already been approved for support. These include research in Environmental Psychology (behavioral interventions for energy conservation on campus), Civil Engineering (water conservation and bioretention), and Mechanical Engineering, (an "iceball" geothermal building cooling system). Students are also encouraged to leverage other funding opportunities such as the Undergraduate Reseach Opportunities Program and MUSE for additional support. Starting in FY12, the Sustainability Research Center (SRC) and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) have created six "sustainability scholar" research assistantships annually.
