A brief summary of additional ways the institution collaborates with other campuses to advance sustainability :

During its pilot year, the Office of Sustainability organized and hosted the first state-wide campus sustainability meeting, held at USU's Utah House, a model green home and meeting space. The group agreed to meet regularly, and adopted the name "Utah Campus Sustainability Consortium." Utah State University agreed to host the listserv for the group. It has been meeting 2-4 times a year, including online meetings to reduce travel and encourage participation from more distanct campuses. Administrators, staff, faculty, and students are represented, and separate student-focused break-out sessions are often held. The most recent event was held In January 2011, and was hosted by Westminster College. The events serve as an opportunity for Sustainability organizations from college campuses across Utah to share their various accomplishments, initiatives, and to build communication networks by which to share resources and information. Office of Sustainability staff attend at least one regional (Rocky Mountain Sustainability Summit), or national professional conference annually. Contacts made at those conferences have been extremely valuable, and have led to follow-up conversations or consultations to seek advice, best practices, and share information with colleagues at other institutions.
