A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory (including the types of faculty and staff included as researchers):

This list includes self-identified sustainability focused faculty (GCSC members). As of 2016, there are approximately 130 GCSC affiliate faculty. We have identified at least 45 additional non-GCSC affiliates that were identified using the Office of Sponsored Projects database and searching for funding received from 2014-2016 that had sustainability keywords (e.g., key words including food systems, ground and water, energy, sustainable transportation, built environment, air, climate, sustainability education, diversity and social justice, waste, purchasing, sustainable investments and policy). This list only includes regular faculty members. It does not include postdoctoral researchers, research affiliates, or staff.
