Information on computer purchasing was compiled in summer of 2012, based on FY 2011 information. (Environmentally Preferable Purchasing at the University of Utah: Computers, Paper, and Chemicals - Matthew S. Boerke, graduate intern for Sustainability Office). At that time, the university would have received partial credit for EPEAT computers (perhaps 0.25 - 0.5 points). STARS requires that the information be within 3 years of submittal date, so this report was not valid as a source for this current submittal.
Since the information came mostly from vendors (not internal UofU sources), we did not have the resources to follow through and include this round. We hope to introduce tracking systems for future purchases so that the information is readily available for our next STARS report.
