A brief description of the program(s), including positive outcomes during the previous three years (e.g. descriptions of new courses or course content resulting from the program):

The University Committee on Sustainability's Teaching and Research Subcommittee was given funding to support implementation of UVA's Sustainability Plan, which includes a goal to "Enhance sustainability-focused teaching and curricular development." To this end, the Teaching and Research Subcommittee issues requests for proposals for faculty to submit proposals to develop new sustainability-related courses, using Sustainability Plan funding. In the 2016-2017 academic year, $8000 each was granted to four faculty members for four new or revamped sustainability courses. These courses are being offered to students in the spring 2018 semester. Additional funding is in the process of being granted for the 2017-2018 academic year.
