The College of Engineering, Arts and Sciences and College of the Environment have a joint hire agreement that stipulates interdisciplinary research in all of their appointment letters. These agreements explicitly state that interdisciplinary research is a job requirement and promotion and tenure is later evaluated with this in mind.
