A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :

Based on title and course description a list of courses was developed that reflected course offerings containing either a sustainability focus or component. This list was shared with the all-faculty listserv for comment and feedback; either to dispute a categorization or to add courses that were left off. Feedback was researched and processed and final changes were made to the list. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment provided the data on all the course offerings in the last two fiscal years. The average of the course counts of each year was used and presented here.

How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each offering or section of a course was counted as an individual course
