Several offices offer diversity trainings to student leaders through various mentoring programs (orientation leaders, SGA officers, Housing and Residential Life Resident Assistants and Directors, SAFE ZONE trainings, Tutor trainings, AAMI & MAP mentor trainings, etc.). The Center for Diversity and Inclusion offers diversity activities and events to further support the general student body, including outreach to all first year students. Other cultural competence opportunities are sponsored by the Responsible Sexuality Committee.

Staff are given regular diversity training opportunities, some of which are mandatory, offered the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Diversity training is also offered by the Center via Leadership Development Institutes. These are held every 90 days, each one- to two-day retreat focuses on a specific set of learning critical to the growth and effectiveness of the university's leaders. Leaders then take this training to their staff. Lastly, the Center also offers diversity training to all staff orientations.

Faculty are offered several voluntary training opportunities and diversity events. There is for instance a book group sponsored by The Center for Diversity and Inclusion that reads and discusses a book relevant to issues of diversity and inclusion.
