Western recently went through an RFP process to select a preferred vendor(s) for desktop and laptop technology. As part of this process, Western has awarded 3 vendors, and consequently all monitors and notebooks awarded as part of this contract are at a minimum Silver EPEAT level.
Furthermore, desktops purchased as part of this contract are at a Gold Level from Western’s tier 1 supplier. Desktops purchased from Western’s Tier 2 suppliers have not registered with the EPEAT program at this point, however Western anticipates Silver EPEAT rating or higher once this is completed.
