Amount of construction and demolition materials recycled, donated, or otherwise recovered :

Amount of construction and demolition materials landfilled or incinerated :
544.39 Metric tons

A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contribute to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:

There are six buildings that have gone through major construction and/or demolition during the past three years at Western.

The four buildings for which Western has kept records of the amount of waste that have been recycled or sent to landfill coming from the construction and demolition are: the CMLP, Physics and Astronomy Building, Stevenson-Lawson Building, and the new Richard Ivey Building (which is still under construction).

Please note that not all construction and demolition materials from projects done during the past three years have been included as they were completed before Western adopted the LEED criteria. Meanwhile those buildings were being operated and outsourced by a third-party and there are no existing data.
The 2 buildings that have not been included in this report are the Support Services Building and Advanced Facility for Avian Research.
