A brief description of the plan of action to achieve waste reduction goals:

The Sustainability Section of the 2010 UWM master plan, features a brief plan of action to achieve waste reduction goals; including:
1. Increase recycling rates and waste minimization programs incrementally each year.
2. Find new sources for current waste via City and community processors, as well as faculty research.
3. Recycle 50% of all construction and demolition site waste on all campus remodeling and new construction projects, effective immediately.
4. Increase the awareness of the UWM community with regard to recycling logistics, services and progress.
5. Increase the reuse of campus furniture and equipment by redistribution on campus, through public sale and through donation to area non-profits.
