UW-Platteville has participated in several regional sustainability policy initiatives in recent years:
1) In 2011-2013 the University was on the advisory board of the Southwestern Wisconsin regional sustainability plan (Grow Southwest Wisconsin) which identified a wide range of policies selected to build sustainability and collaboration between the many levels of public and private sector players in southwest Wisconsin
2) In 2010 we participated in the City / Town of Platteville Comprehensive Plan which identified a number of policies to promote sustainability in the local community related to transportation, energy, economic development, water, and other resources.
3) In 2008 the University was a member of the Platteville Safe Routes to School planning process which identified safe bicyclist and pedestrian routes through the community.
