We have lockers, showers, and bicycle storage all available at the Williams Fieldhouse, which is open during regular campus hours.

In the past five years we have installed new bicycle racks across campus (these racks all bolt to the ground), all buildings now have racks within 50 ft (typically closer) of a main entrance. Residence halls additionally all have enclosed bicycle parking (bike lockers) within 330 feet of the building.

Our campus master plan (2011) identifies standards for pedestrian and bicycle circulation.The plan lays out the following goals for campus and includes details on how to achieve them:
Locate shuttle and transit stops at gateways
- Integrate bike corridors with campus streets and primary pedestrian paths
Meet city parking requirements on-campus
- Identify shared parking zones with city
Establish inviting campus streetscapes and edges
Strengthen East/West primary pedestrian paths:
- Greenwood Avenue corridor
- Pine Street, The Mall
- South of Williams Fieldhouse – Engineering Hall to Russell Hall
Strengthen North/South primary pedestrian paths:
- Longhorn Drive corridor
- East of Williams Fieldhouse
- Jay Street to Center for the Arts

The University started a fixed bus program in 2012. Since then (2015), the program has been taken over by the City with routes nearly doubled. All students ride this bus for free. The bus operates from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. M-T, 7 a.m. - 3:30 a.m. F, and 2 p.m. - 3:30 a.m. on Saturdays. During academic breaks and summer break, the bus operates M-F 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. In 2015 the bus provided 41,458 rides.

We offer Zimride Rideshare for our students and staff. This online software allows members to connect with others to carpool/rideshare.

In 2016-17 we had an Enterprise Carshare program on campus. It was cancelled in fall of 2017 due to low participation.

Because we are a rural campus, we realized that we needed a way to get students to a major regional airport for academic breaks. In spring of 2013 we began to offer subsidized bus rides to Rockford, IL and Chicago's O'hare airports at Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks as well as the last day of classes in May.
