A brief description of the themed semester, year, or first-year experience:

In 2009-10, a first year residential learning community titled iRock had a sustainability theme in addition to personal wellness and social justice themes built in. 44 students participated and took a common cohort of courses (ENGL100, SOCI100, GEOG120, ESM105). Faculty worked sustainability into the curriculum through a common read (Aldo Leopold's A Sand County Almanac).
