The UWSP Counseling Center is committed to helping students get the most from their college experience. We use diverse, but proven psychotherapy approaches to enhance students’ social, emotional, and developmental well-being. The Counseling Center is staffed with licensed mental health professionals dedicated to assisting students as they navigate difficult circumstances or resolve personal concerns. The Counseling Center is fully committed to consulting with and educating the greater UWSP community in areas of mental health and emotional functioning. We meet regularly with faculty, staff, and students to assist with concerning situations and we often provide education, training and prevention programming that addresses student mental health and emotional well-being.

The Employee Wellness program at UW-Stevens Point is run by health promotion/wellness students in an advanced practicum course. They manage programming, promotion and activities of wellness-related events around campus.
The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point contracts with “LifeMatters” to provide assistance to employees needing mental healthcare, financial consulting, legal advice and other resources that promote healthy work and life balances.

UWSP has a long history in helping create the wellness movement. The Health Promotion and Wellness (UWSP-HPW) academic program introduced in 1987 and continues to produce professionals with a Health Promotion and Wellness bachelor of science degree. The mission of the Health Promotion/Wellness Program is to provide high quality education and experiences to future professionals for placement in worksites around the nation, and to assist all UWSP students, faculty and staff in understanding the process of developing a healthier lifestyle.
