Does the institution have a surplus department or formal office supplies exchange program that facilitates reuse of materials?:
A brief description of the program:
Virginia Tech’s Surplus Department has dedicated staff members that collect materials that are reported as surplus by the campus community. Surplus property staff retrieves material and stores it in the dedicated surplus warehouse, where it can be viewed and reclaimed by the campus community as needed. If materials are not reclaimed after 1-2 months, they are sold at public auction.
