Does the institution have an on-campus garden where students are able to gain organic farming and/or gardening experience?:
Yes

A brief description of the garden:

Beginning as a small herb plot in 2009, The Dining Services Garden at Kentland Farm grew has grown to encompass approximately 6 acres of land. Successful and sustainable production at the garden is the result of an enriching partnership with faculty in the Department of Horticulture and a community food sheds grant given to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The produce from the farm is sent directly to campus where it is served in the dining units. The Dining Services Garden at Kentland Farm is currently in the process of becoming certified organic, however it has, since its inception, maintained organic principles in its production scheme. Starting in the Fall 2014 semester, a course will be taught by the Sustainable Food Systems Production Director that offers hands on experience for students interested in learning the more about a working sustainably managed farm.
