Through regular meetings, Wake Forest administrators advocate for sustainable transportation infrastructure with municipal and state agencies, including bond initiatives, transit infrastructure improvements, and bicycle master planning.

Since 2012, John Knox, Professor of International Law and WFU Center for Energy Environment, and Sustainability (CEES) board member, has served as the United Nations special rapporteur for Human Rights and the Environment.

Professor Knox has spoken at several international Conference of Parties (COP) meetings advocating for international climate change policies. The work of Knox, and several other affiliate faculty in our academic center (CEES), on international accords at Conferences of Parties is directly tied to climate action advocacy work in the state and on campus.
