The university's new downtown campus houses the medical school and some new undergraduate degree programs, including Engineering. The campus just became operational in 2017-18. The campus is operated by the university under a long-term lease. Operations and maintenance are not within the full control of the university. The hospital affiliated with the university is not within the management jurisdiction of the the university.
