A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :
Washington University in St. Louis constructed one of the first two certified "Living Buildings" in the world and as of October 12, 2010, is the first university to have constructed a "Living Building" on one of its campuses, as designated by the International Living Building Institute.
