The overarching goal within our Strategic Plan for Sustainable Operations is to reduce reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 greenhouse gas emissions levels by 2020 without purchasing carbon offsets.
Because carbon offsets permit emitters to not actually reduce their pollution, but to merely meet regulatory caps on emissions, this is not a strategy we are pursuing in meeting our goal.
