Does the institution donate leftover or surplus food?:
A brief description of the food donation program:
AVI focuses a lot of effort on diminishing food wastes through efficiency in ordering and transfers. AVI team members count plates daily and for units that have swipe systems we are able to track exact counts. These tracking techniques allow us to project production needs and limit our percentage of waste. If there is a surplus of product then we have the luxury of transferring to other units where it can be utilized in different forms.
Also on occasion we have donated to The Boston Food Bank.
