President Jonathan Gibralter is a nationally recognized advocate for responsible student alcohol consumption, which is an important campus safety concern. Dr. Gibralter serves as the chairperson of the College Presidents Working Group of the National Institute for Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA); he contributed to the development of the College Alcohol Intervention Matrix (CollegeAIM). In October 2015, Dr. Gibralter testified before a congressional sub-committee on the important work of this group and the launch of the CollegeAIM intervention tool.
Wells is a member of CICU, the Commission of Independent Colleges and Universities, a statewide association representing the public policy interests of the chief executives of more than 100 independent colleges and universities in New York State. Through our engagement with CICU, Wells has advocated for improved access and support for affordability for college students at state and federal levels.
