A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives:

Various offices and departments provide workplace health and safety training, depending upon their function. Annual fire training is provided for all student-focused personnel, including resident assistants and orientation leaders. Facilities staffers receive OSHA-approved workplace safety training, including information on safe lifting and chemical handling. Building care staffers receive special training in bloodborne pathogens. Faculty and staff working with potentially hazardous chemicals and waste products are trained in proper handling and disposal. The Human Resources department sends out periodic newsletters that often include reminders about workplace health and safety.
