Center for Sustainability and the Environment
The Wells College Library partners with the Center for Sustainability and the Environment to offer a community seed exchange program, freely offering donated seed to the campus and local community. The program supports academic and co-curricular programs on campus as well as supporting individual growers and food producers in the community.
Each season, about 150 members of the campus and wider community access our Seed Exchange.
In fall 2014, we received 400 seed packets from 6 seed companies.
In fall 2015, we received nearly 1,400 seed packets from twelve donor companies.
In fall 2016, 19 companies donated over 1,700 packets of seed. We valued their donation at over $5,000.
