The WKU sustainability report, "Big Red, Small Planet, Sustainability at Western Kentucky University", describes programs, projects, and accomplishments and is available as an ibook or in pdf format. The report is available on the WKU Sustainability website, which also includes an inventory of our university best practices.
The WKU Sustainability Coordinator presents regularly at conferences such as AASHE annual conference and other higher education conferences regarding WKU best practices.
The WKU Sustainability Coordinator regularly consults with other institutions served by Sodexo Facilities Management to help them achieve goals, including provision of templates for a University Energy Policy, Conservation Vacation, and other such initiatives.


The names of local, state/provincial, regional, national, or international campus sustainability organizations or consortia in which the institution participates and/or is a member:

WKU is a member of AASHE.
WKU participates in the Kentucky University and College Carbon Consortium, a leading group of Kentucky institutions that are working on strategies for carbon reduction and mitigation for ours and other institutions within the region.
WKU participates with other Kentucky higher education institutions to conduct the annual Kentucky Higher Education sustainability conference.
WKU recently entered into a partnership with the University of Akuyeri, Iceland, to encourage collaborative climate research.

Each year, WKU joins University of Kentucky, Berea, and University of Louisville in the regional Bluegrass Unplugged competition as part of the larger Campus Conservation Nationals competition.
