Western liasons spoke publically at the City of La Crosse Common Council meeting in support of a joint City-County Sustainability Plan. Western also supports the Empire Builder High-Speed Rail Coalition's efforts.


A brief description of other political positions the institution has taken during the previous three years:

Western Technical College has advocated for policy on the State level. Representatives from Western Technical College traveled to the state capitol in Madison Wisconsin in order to speak with State Senator Jennifer Schilling. These representatives were sent in order to advocate for increased funding for the Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin Grant Program. During this meeting with the Senator Western representatives promoted the incorporation of local food in school lunches.
